At a glance

Thanks for reading this year's final Black Curtain Studio newsletter.

This edition has been held back until some more interesting news were afoot. Since the last one before the summer, quite a few stuff has happened: a new game release, a new horror game project has emerged and some new fun collaborations started.

Our new game Paper Craft Battles was recently released on Google Play and Appstore.

A brand new horror game is in development since october this year and thus still in early stages.

Lastly, don't forget to check out One Late Night: Deadline at the holiday sales on Steam.

Paper Craft Battles

Our latest game release "Paper Craft Battles" is a turn-based strategy game for Android and iOS, set in a colorful world made of paper. The purpose of the game is much like chess; you move around your units on the maps to defeat the enemy by taking out their units, capturing cities and finally destroying their command base. When one of your unit destroys an enemy unit, it may increase its rank and become stronger and the chance for a counter attack increases when it's attacked.

 

Important gameplay features to point out are:

  • You get 3 moves per turn.
  • Choose to move units, attack or buy new units with your moves.
  • You can buy soldiers, tanks and helicopters from your command center.
  • Capture cities to gain bonus money at the end of each turn.
  • Capture naval yards to be able to buy ships.
  • Capture airfields to be able to buy air strikes (call airstrike from airfield).
  • Win the game by destroying the enemy command center.

Holiday sales

The holidays are upon us and with it comes the long awaited Steam game sales. Of course One Late Night: Deadline will be up for grabs at a bargain price on Steam, so make sure to get it while the sale lasts and maybe pick it up as a gift for a friend too!

Ongoing and future projects

Currently I am deep in work on new project that will be a brand new horror game. This will be a whole new horror game IP that I've wanted to realize for a long time with many different elements never before seen in a horror game, which I strongly believe not only horror game enthusiast will love, but also the general type gamer and players who love exploration. The game will mix horror and action elements with lots of exploration in a large open forest environment. I am estimating that this game will be ready for release in mid-2016. The official announcement will be arriving early 2016 with screenshots and the like.

Collaboration
